Alcohol Intervention

Intervention Services

"Why don't you just STOP drinking?" It would be easy to imagine that you have had thoughts like this or said these words to a loved one with a drinking problem. It is rather difficult to understand why someone who is suffering severe consequences from drinking would not cut it out. The fact is, however, that when an Alcoholic ingests any alcohol what-so-ever into their system they then develop "the phenomenon of craving" which makes it virtually impossible for the Alcoholic to control how much alcohol they consume. The Alcoholic does not have the power to "just stop drinking". Alcoholism is a disease and like all other diseases it requires treatment. Unless there is a strategic alcohol intervention put into action this person may never get the help they need to overcome their illness.

Please visit Alcohol Addiction to gain a clearer description of alcohol addiction and what it actually is.

What is an alcohol intervention? By definition, an alcohol intervention is an orchestrated attempt by one, or often many, (usually family and friends) to get someone to seek professional help with their alcohol addiction. The sole purpose of Intervention Treatment is to offer a solution and program of alcohol intervention and recovery for those afflicted with Alcoholism. The ultimate goal of an alcohol intervention is to enable the Alcoholic to escape from their seemingly hopeless addiction. It is our mission to aid in the loving rehabilitation of the Alcoholic as well as the family and loved ones who have endured the emotional roller coaster that comes with Alcohol addiction.

So, what is the process? Our Alcohol intervention process has been finely tuned after years of experience. It has been transformed into a simple outline for a very complex matter.

  • Pick up the phone. The first step in the alcohol intervention process is for you to pick up the phone and dial our number.

  • The Consultation. The second step is for one of our professional alcohol intervention experts to consult with you. The goal of the consultation is for us to collect all of the necessary information about your individual situation, the person we are going to be intervening on, the Alcoholic's history and any other information necessary to create a unique alcohol intervention. The consultation is completely secure and confidential.

  • Who is going to be involved? This step is very crucial. We need to make a wise selection of people to be involved in the actual intervention process. This could be anybody from Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister, best friend/s, girlfriend/boyfriend, etc. The best way to make this selection is to review the Alcoholic's history. Who has your loved one been the closest to over the years? Who has he/she felt the most secure with? Who would this person turn to for help with any other problem?

  • Outline the Alcohol intervention. This portion of the alcohol intervention process is where we plan the actual intervention. This includes the planning for one of our alcohol intervention experts to come to you, making arrangements with a treatment center, planning the dates that the alcohol intervention will take place, etc.

  • Let's make it happen. This is the step that includes the actual alcohol intervention. One of our alcohol intervention experts will come to you the day before the intervention. You will meet with our expert and prepare for the following day. This includes a rehearsal and reviewing what you and the other intervention members will say to your loved one. At this point our expert will coach you on how the alcohol intervention should be performed. They will guide you on "do's" and "don'ts" and prepare you for a variety of different scenarios that could potentially unfold as a result of the alcohol intervention.

  • Begin to heal. Once your loved one makes a decision to accept help they will then be transported to the treatment center. It is at this point that the recovery process begins for the Alcoholic as well as the family and friends. The healing process is as much for the family and friends as it is for the Alcoholic. Because of the emotional damage and suffering that the family and friends of the Alcoholic endure, it is very important that you begin to heal and feel better too. It is vital that you get your life back and begin to enjoy everyday of it. We will be available to you throughout the entire process of the treatment and thereafter. We will mentor you through the process and be available for questions as well as guidance on what YOU should do now that your loved one is in treatment.

The alcohol intervention process that we have in place is a tried and proven process. It is through years of qualifying experience that our strategy has developed. Keep in mind that Alcohol intervention is no easy process. There is a lot of work and emotional healing involved for everyone. However, if it is carried out properly and with the right people and professionals in place, it is a virtually full proof plan. We carry a 98% success rate in convincing the Alcoholic to accept help. Intervention Treatment is committed to the successful recovery of the Alcoholic as well as the family and friends. We pledge to guide and support you through every step of the alcohol intervention, treatment, and recovery process.
