At Intervention Treatment we know drug and alcohol rehabilitation can not begin until the body is cleared of any outside substances. Physical dependence to drugs and/or alcohol causes the body to react in very strange ways when the drugs and alcohol are removed. These are called withdrawal symptoms, ranging from shaking, vomiting, cold sweats, bone pain, and general confusion.
At our treatment centers we begin treatment with a visit to one of our doctors. During this doctor visit past drug and alcohol use and history of current use is discussed. The doctor will make a decision if detox medications are needed. In most cases they are given so the client will not feel the effects of drug and/or alcohol withdrawals.
Intervention Treatment offers painless opiate detox. For those withdrawing from heroin, vicodin, oxycontin, oxycodone, and other opiates this is an incredible relief. Normally when one stops taking a opiate they go through horrible withdrawals. Our painless detox is achieved through the use of Buprenorphine also known as Subutex or Suboxone. To prescribe Subutex or Suboxone a doctor must carry a special certification called an OBOT or Office Based Opiate Treatment. Our physicians all carry OBOT certification.
