What is an intervention?
An intervention is a solution oriented group process focused on the addicted individual and finding a solution to the addiction. An intervention consists of friends, family members, co-workers, and many others who come together with one common goal, to help the dependant individual. A successful intervention is facilitated by a professional interventionist who directs the family out of crisis while guiding the afflicted to gain perspective on their conduct and accept help for their problem.
How Interventions Work
Our success rate at Intervention Treatment is so high because we strategically gather information about the individual and plan a course of action that is best suited to the individual and family. Once Intervention Treatment receives a request for an intervention, an intervention expert will conduct a phone consultation with the family. The expert will ask questions concerning the addict's patterns, behaviors, habits, friends and daily life. The interventionist will get an idea how the person functions and will continue to ask questions until it is clear what type of intervention strategy is needed. During the phone consultation the specialist and the family will set plans for treatment and recovery. Also discussing who will be present and exactly what will happen prior, during, and after the intervention. Participants will be contacted directly by the interventionist prior to meeting for the purpose of education and gathering further information regarding the chemically dependant love one. Once the consultation is complete a pre-intervention meeting, with all participants will take place. The pre-intervention meeting is where scenario training will take place and post-intervention treatment plans will be solidified.
The actual intervention often takes place at the individual's, close friend, or relative's home. The intervention is private and the environment is safe and as unthreatening as possible. Close family members, spouses, friends, and sometimes co-workers are involved in the intervention so the individual can see the way his/her addiction has hurt and affected others. In our successful interventions, the family and interventionist work as a team to obtain recovery.
Treatment
Following a successful intervention, the family and interventionist explain how treatment works and what arrangements have been made for treatment. Our interventionists continue to follow up with the family and the individual throughout the treatment process, reporting on a regular basis and often times visiting the individual during treatment. Because each client is extremely important to us, this follow up provides a constant flow of communication between all parties and lets the family know the progress of their loved one and that he/she is safe.
